Dragons Lane

Just outside the small town of Sandbach in the county of Cheshire and on the A533 Middlewich road can be found a small road which is known as Dragons lane. The lane in question is only very short, maybe 400-500 yards in length.

If you travel down this lane and over the hump back bridge which takes you over the canal you will see on your left hand side a depression in a field, it is at this depression that legend has it that a Dragon was slayed some time in the past. It is not known who was responsible for dispatching this legendary creature, or in fact when it was supposed to have occurred, but the event was duly recorded by having the lane named after the creature!
