Possibly the best Bookshop in Derbyshire?

In my humble opinion one of the best and interesting bookshops in Derbyshire can be found in the famous town of Buxton. Scrivener’s Books & Bookbinding is a fascinating second hand and antique bookshop in Buxton, England located at 42 High Street, Buxton, SK17 6HB.

Housed in a glorious quirky Victorian building the shop boasts an impressive collection of 40,000 books spread across five floors. Scrivener’s surprises visitors with its spacious interior. From the cellar all the way up to the loft space, books are tucked in every nook and cranny.

The building retains many of its original features, including an old range and sink in the cellar. In fact there’s even a museum set up in the cellar to give shoppers a taste of the building’s history.

Scrivener’s offers a bookbinding service. If you have any antique books in need of restoration or if you would like a bespoke hand made book or album, they’ve got you covered. They’ll also value any antique books you may have.

Whether you are a book lover, a collector, or just curious there’s something for everyone amongst its shelves. So next time your in Buxton, don’t miss this chance to explore this literary treasure trove.
